Liminal World

Liminal World: Canada

Liminal World: Canada (“Winds of change”: a healing voice from Indigenous community from Vancouver Island)

Daniel R. Elliott spent his life living in between two worlds. He followed his mother’s Scottish roots, devoting himself to Christianity, and the order of strict board schools and the outside world, but he was also exposed to his father’s Indigenous roots learning from an early age about land, fishing, gathering, lodging. Daniel’s interests were also split as he spent his young adulthood working half a year as a coastal fisherman and the other half as an artist.

And then one day in 1998, he took a step towards a new profession which would unexpectedly lead to profound life change. No one, not even him, knew where it would take him.

(Note: During the conversation regarding coronavirus, and the article he wrote for local newspaper, Daniel accidentally mentioned February 2019. as a release time, but it has to be said that the time was actually February 2020.

“Winds of change” is his latest and biggest artwork which he has been working on last two years and hopefully it will be unveiled this year, 2021).
